Breakfast Like a Champ

That day we woke up at five and went out for breakfast.

Well, not precisely. I'm not a morning person, so there's definitely no way I would wake up that early for a breakfast. That day, we actually had to send one of our friends off (this friend) at the airport for the earliest flight. We girls had a sleepover the night before, and were really shocked when we found out that we missed our alarm, and the plane was going to take off in just half an hour. We jumped out of bed and drove and ran non-stop as fast as the speed of lightning, enough to make me completely awake in just a second. All those runs at dawn starves us so much that we decided to go grab some breakfast afterwards. The Grumpy Barista has been in our go-to list for so long due to their popular cronuts, but every time we get there in the afternoon, their cronuts have completely sold out. That morning, we drove down to Petersham confidently with cronuts in mind, thinking that this time we'd get to taste their fancy cronuts since it's still early and they must not have sold them out.

But once again, they had to disappoint us. We came by too early, so they haven't prepared their cronuts. Ahh, what is it with us and the wrong timing *sob* But we still stayed for their breakfast menus, which were really good, and chilled for a little while after all the morning chaos.

Jennifer's pick was my favorite. It being the most captured dish (and the prettiest too) in Instagram, she asked the waitress what it was since it wasn't in the menu. It's called the Breakfast Board, and it's not at all disappointing. Yum! So this is how it feels having breakfast like a champ.

No. It's not finished yet. There's always a dessert time after every meal, remember? Since we were still craving for cronuts, we decided to hit Brewtown Newtown for theirs.

This time we ordered all the flavours they have, learning from our past experience in John Smith Cafe (read here). We went home completely stuffed with happy tummy and happy mind. We promised to come back to The Grumpy Barista for their cronuts one day (look at that persistent mind of ours haha). Better luck next time!
