Adios, Amigo!

Bidding farewell isn't always easy.

A week before our friend Benny went back to his hometown for good, we decided to spend the whole day with him exploring Sydney in his last days. As per his request, we started off the day by having lunch at The Potting Shed at The Grounds, which welcomed us with their colourful big parrot.

Say hello to their farm animals, be prepared of their smell. Fun fact about their pig: the famous Kevin Bacon, he once went missing and had the whole Australia search for him until he was later found in Victoria. That pig has got a great sense of adventure.

I have always thought that The Grounds have the best brunch menus. Not only that it serves affordable mouth-watering food, it also is the prettiest brunch place in Sydney, where every corner becomes a really nice backdrop to take pictures! Definitely coming back for its food and place (and their cute waiters as well)!

Staying true to ourselves, we hit another place for dessert. Yes, we're stuffed already, but a little ice cream wouldn't hurt, no? We settled for Gelato Messina's ice cream because their lab shop isn't open in the afternoon.

I have had high expectations of the Art Gallery of NSW, it being on my to go list for so long. Thankfully, the place was just as amazing as how I imagined it to be: high ceilings, white walls, paintings, statues, and quirky art installations. This has been their mission, to do the Tyra Banks hair flip or whatever. They do it everywhere we go, they don't even care about the people staring. We stayed in the Art Gallery until it closed, and headed to Neutral Bay to dine in Kyushu Japanese Restaurant where more of our friends joined us. Of course there's dessert. Travelled far to Neutral Bay only to come back to the city for our favourite, La Mamma del Gelato AnitaThat concludes our trip for the day. Benny has now gone back to his hometown in Medan (4286 miles from Sydney and 880 miles from Jakarta), so we won't be able to see him very often. But then again, good friends do not say goodbye, they simply say "see you soon"! So we'll be seeing you soon, Benny boy!
