Perth Getaway Part 3

Watch out! Picture heavy post ahead. You've been warned.

Back in my high school days (now I feel like a grandma), I used to come to Fremantle with friends to play (mostly the photo booth) in Timezone, yeah we were them cool kids. Now I come for the breathtaking views, seafood, shopping, and of course, Fremantle Markets - one of the tourist destinations in Perth. Fremantle is lined with boutique shops and old Australian buildings, making me feel like I'm in a western movie.

We went there on a Saturday morning, probably why it was more crowded than I remembered.

I just love the energy you get in the markets. Vibrant colours in everything - fruits & veg, clothing, food, shoes. I come from Indonesia, where markets aren't as clean like Australian markets, and they have a completely different feel to it. So if you are from Indonesia, or overseas countries, an Australian market is an experience you shouldn't miss out.

Do you see what I mean? Take any angle of the water and it would look like a pro photographer's work. Almost.

Fremantle is also famous for Little Creatures Brewery. I personally have never known of Little Creatures or the fact that it originated from Fremantle until Jennifer's family asked to bring their beer back home.

Apparently they have a limited flavour that's only available on tap. So we ended up buying the normal beers anyways.

Lunch was at Cicerello's, famous for their fish and chips, mussels, and my favourite - prawn pasta. I go here every time I visit Perth, just because it's that good and also it's a family tradition. This used to be our mini family getaway, a trip out of the city, so I'm used to lining up foreverrrr just to eat here. Call me crazy or whatever.

BAM. Le mussel and prawn pasta. Wish you could just reach into the screen and have a taste don't ya?

On a side note, I'd like to recommend a certain restaurant that has been truly amazing and very much in my heart ever since I came to Perth. This place has unbelievable food, and every time I eat there, I get ecstatic like a fat kid getting cake. The place is a vietnamese restaurant called Viet Hoa. I don't know whether it's because I'm used to Perth's flavours or what, but I haven't been able to find another vietnamese restaurant like it. Everything on the menu is delicious.

I terribly regret not getting any photos, it's not very appealing on photos. My favourites on the menu is their raw beef hofan/beef ball hofan (soup/dry), pork chop & shredded meat with broken rice, spring rolls, fried squid, boneless chicken wings (they're actually stuffed chicken wings. Big ones), and of course iced white coffee.

Make sure to pay this one a visit, I surely will never forget to whenever I go back to Perth.
